early reading program|What Age My Baby Can Learn to Read?

More and more people are starting to realize that it is very well possible to teach babies to read and they start looking into an early reading program. Some people don’t agree to teach babies to read at an early age and they think children should start reading after age of 5 or 6, and some are arguing about the fact that babies just memorize and repeat the words. The truth is that babies are memorizing everything and that’s how they learn.

Your baby memorizes the bottle, the pictures, the colors and everything around him, so thisĀ  is the same process in which he can learn to read.

When babies are born, they have the ability to start learning different languages and memorize from birth to 5 years old and this is the best time to teach them reading by showing written words that are clear and big. We show them the word and say what it says and after repeating this a few times, babies learn the word.

Babies that have been exposed to written language are then able to decode the sounds the letters make, thereby learning phonics on their own. When you show the bottle to your baby a few times and repeat the word bottle, your baby learns the word bottle, so you can do the same thing with writing and show him the written form of your language.

Your baby’s brain is like a sponge and absorbs everything very fast. So if you as a parent create an environment that is rich in music, language, math and everything else, then you are laying the foundation for love of learning for your baby.

Your baby can learn a few languages at the same time at his early age. If he is exposed to a foreign language from birth, the he will be able to speak that language without any accent. If he is exposed to music, then he can learn the perfect pitch as well as the names of the notes.

So now we know that babies can learn to read, then you might ask what is the best age to start? Well, you can not start from birth and the reason is because babies can not see clearly when they are born. So during the first few weeks and months, they see shadows. It might take about three months until the visual pathway has been fully developed.

You can test your babies vision by holding an object like a toy and move it slowly to the right and then left. If your baby is following the object, then he/she can see clearly and is ready with your early reading program.

There are many options available for you to teach your baby to read. You may implement the use of flash cards and videos and this is what most parents do.
